Just a few of John's many achievements in recent years include:

  • He developed innovative campus architectures for new universities in Saudi Arabia
  • He co-wrote the national education ICT strategy for a major Gulf state
  • He guided the design and implementation of connected schools pilots & projects across the world
  • He devised the communications strategy for a major South African university

  • John Connell: Global Education & Technology Experience

John has played key roles in creating and developing network architectures to support learning for schools and universities - he specialises in ensuring that a high-level network design dovetails exactly with the real educational needs and expectations of the user base. Too often, campus and school networks are designed and implemented according to criteria based more on business and corporate needs than with the true educational interests. The needs of teachers and students, and the specific requirements of different educational sectors, must be front and center of any network design process.

John brings to the Blacklin Education Practice many years of experience, both in the Glow Program and in his work with Cisco Systems across the the globe, and will work with clients to help them clarify and set out their real collaborative, communicative and educational needs for the future.
